Midwest GameFest is pleased to announce the first of our Special Guests for 2017, industry veteran Rick Loomis of Flying Buffalo Games! Rick is the president and founder of Flying Buffalo Inc, the oldest adventure game company still run by its original ownership. The Role-players Guild of Kansas City is pleased to announce the return of Midwest GameFest in 2017! Attendees can enjoy four fantastic days of tabletop hobby games of all kinds, from role-playing games, LARPs, and social games, to board games, card games, and historical and fantasy miniatures games! There's cosplay contests, workshops, and panels and our wonderful array of exhibitors with all manner of hobby gaming-related products. There will be some great special guests, and this year we'll even have a variety of new activities. All this and more are brought to you by The Role-players Guild of Kansas City, Borderwars, and the Gamers Haven Game Library!
When: November 2-5, 2017
Where: Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center, Independence, Missouri

Plans are already underway for Midwest GameFest 2017, and we're pretty excited about what we have in store for guests this year: more space, more food options, more types of events! But... we don't have a contracted date just yet due to an issue at our 2017 venue of choice, the fabulous Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center in Independence, Missouri.
The Problem
Specifically, a professional sports team has contracted with the hotel for all of their home games this Fall. That's great for the hotel but has played havoc with existing events like ours. Furthermore, it would be easy enough to work around except the team's home game schedule won't be finalized until mid-April. So, we'll be making an official announcement in late April, coinciding with our efforts working at Planet Comicon's tabletop gaming hall. Look for signs there, on this website, and in our social media channels!
Save the Dates
We've had our options narrowed down to the following five four-day weekends this Fall:
- Oct 12-22
- Oct 26-29
- Nov 2-5
- Nov 9-12
- Nov 16-19
So pencil us in, and stay tuned for more details in April!

Whew! Another Midwest GameFest has come and gone, and what an experience it was. A big year of additions, changes, and records with lots to talk about, celebrate, and improve. Head on over to the year-end wrap-up and look ahead to 2017!

The time has come! Today we are opening event signups to all badge holders for Midwest GameFest, our four-day tabletop game convention being held this November 10-13, 2016 at Stoney Creek Hotel and Conference Center in Independence, Missouri. Early-bird badge holders began event signup last Monday, October 3rd and now everyone can get in on the action.
Head on over to check out our event selection and signup for events! Not everything is in yet, with some organized play events in and some missing (D&D Adventurers League, Shadowrun Missions coming soon), cosplay events, and other panels, but there are tons of game events to choose from.
Badges and Add-Ons Still Available
If you haven't bought a badge yet, now's the time! Four-day, single-day, and VIG badges are still available. And if you haven't seen any of our cool add-ons, like t-shirts, mugs, dice, raffle tickets, and organized play perks, then you are missing out. Head on over now to check out what's still available!
As you know, this year we decided against a Kickstarter. We didn't know what to expect, but attendee response to our new badge system and add-on store has been phenomenal! But we can always do better. The convention is a non-profit effort run by volunteers with limited resources, and so every little bit of support, time, and money helps a tremendous amount.
